Todd and Kathleen Atkins’s popular Basilio Badillo St. ice cream show Lix to a brand-new location in Fluvial. Being a fan and an ice-cream junkie, I had to check it out! The new shop is located on Jesús Rodríguez Barba Ave., next to the popular Los Alcatraces restaurant, and right across the street from Costco’s parking lot, where presently their own new gas station is under construction.
Also known as the previous owners of Xocodiva Artisan Chocolates, the Atkins have never been shy about trying new flavors, something that can be evidenced by tempting offerings such as a decadent Peanut Butter Cup with Belgian Chocolate, aromatic Blueberry Lavender, and paying tribute to local flavors, a very unique (and quite tasty!) Raspberry Chipotle.
Backstage, Todd supervises all aspects of production, including training his staff.
“We used to live in this neighborhood and kept eyeing this particular spot,” commented Kathleen. “We found the perfect location to not only expand our business but also to consolidate our production, with all our ice creams now being produced here, under Todd’s supervision.”
Needless to say, if you have a sweet tooth, a shopping trip to Costco or La Comer will now not be complete without stopping by Lix for an ice cream scoop or two!
