Get Rid of Pests at Home

Have you noticed how the number of bugs seems to increase during the humid Summer months? I’ve learned the hard way that, when ants and other critters begin trying to take over your kitchen, it’s best to have your entire home exterminated. While there are quite a few services out there, I shamelessly recommend Control de Plagas San Angel. They have been in business for over two decades here in Puerto Vallarta and what they call their “servicio general” is good against scorpions, ants, roaches, spiders, fleas, ticks and even mice. Additionally, they specialize in anti-termite services aimed at the multi-million dollar home market.

To perform the service at your home, they spray low-toxicity bio-degradable chemicals approved by the Health Secretary and their effectiveness lasts between 30-40 days. These chemicals will not harm you or your pets as long as you don’t come in direct contact with them.

How much is the service? An average two-bedroom apartment costs approximately $350 pesos. Medium-sized homes range between $500 and $650 and larger villas will set you back between $1,000 – $2,500 pesos. But given the nuisance plagues can be, particularly termites, it is definitely worth it.

And if you take spinning classes at Gold’s or other gyms in town, chances are you’ve already met the owner of the company, spinning instructor Carlos Suarez, who along with his father, Gabino Suarez, offers friendly, personalized service.

UPDATE-Sept. 2009: Carlos recently visited me to share the new name and logo of his business. Same service, same destructive power, new and improved swanky name!
