Check out the swimming pool at Casa Fiesta in San Pancho, a wonderful getaway I had a pleasure of sharing with a few hard-working friends from Puerto Vallarta a couple of weeks ago. When it’s time to unwind from living and working in town, there is nothing like a quick weekend getaway. Luckily for those of us that live and work yere year around, San Pancho, is just one of many different places one can escape to near Puerto Vallarta, such as Yelapa in the South Shore, or Sayulita, La Peñita and Guayabitos in Riviera Nayarit, not to mention great mountain getaway places like Mascota, Talpa and San Sebastian.
There are a few nice hotels in San Pancho. This time around, however, we decided to rent a home and split the cost among ourselves. There are plenty of options available in websites such as Vacation Rentals by Owner. But in this case, my San Pancho friend Nicole recommended a great find, Casa Fiesta. Casa Fiesta does have a listing in VRBO, but we were able to arrange the stay directly through Nicole. And since the listing doesn’t do justice to this great find, I thought I’d share a quick review and a few pics with anybody interested in a comfy getaway.
Here are several things I particularly enjoyed about Casa Fiesta:
Simple and comfy
With three air-conditioned bedrooms there was plenty of space for us to sleep comfortably. And in terms of living space, there are large indoor and outdoor seating areas, and indoor and outdoor dining tables.
Small but deep swimming pool
Shallow pools can get a bit on the warm side during the summer months. Fortunately, our pool was deep enough to stay nice and cool during the day. Additionally, the pool has a transluscent roof over it, making it easier to enjoy it for extended periods of time without being too concerned about the sun.
I usually travel with gadgetry that allows me to connect a small hard drive to an existing TV set, thus allowing me to watch movies or get caught up with TV shows I enjoy. In this fashion, we were able to enjoy a couple of movie nights while we were at Casa Fiesta.
Staying connected is addictive. Need I say more?
We had originally planed to invite a “grill smart” friend (I don’t know how to do it), so we were not able to enjoy this feature. Maybe next time.
One block from the beach, half a block away from San Pancho’s main drag, and less than two blocks away from the nearest convenience store.
Feel free to contact Nicole for more information about Casa Fiesta.
